About the designer
Hello! I’m Danielle Lange, designer & owner of Lakeside Drive Design Co.
My roots are deeply embedded in a charming fixer-upper from the 1930s, tucked away in the quaint town of Warren County, New Jersey. Our little haven stood proudly on Lakeside Drive, surrounded by the enchanting beauty of the mountains. Growing up, I witnessed my parents' unwavering dedication to transforming our home, both inside and out.
In the heart of this picturesque landscape, on Lakeside Drive, my parents poured their hearts into creating a haven that was more than just a house – it was a true home. Their relentless efforts and love turned our fixer-upper into the perfect sanctuary for our family, and the memories of those days continue to inspire my passion for creating homes that are not just beautiful but hold the essence of cherished stories.
My father's story is one etched in craftsmanship and resilience. Growing up, he immersed himself in the world of tools and manufacturing, a legacy passed down from my grandfather's Tool & Die shop. This foundation fueled his entrepreneurial spirit, leading him to establish his own business in manufacturing sales.
I can vividly recall moments when he'd pick up objects, examining their structure with an intensity that revealed a profound understanding of design and craftsmanship. He'd take the time to explain the intricate process of creation, leaving me in awe of his knowledge. His decades of hard work, building his business from the ground up, are not only a testament to his grit but also an inspiration.
Yet, what I find most admirable about my father extends beyond his craftsmanship. It's the way he interacts with people, especially his customers. Patient, honest, and kind, he's a man of few words, yet his heart is enormous, and his knowledge of his craft is unparalleled. He's not just a businessman; he's a living example of dedication, integrity, and the artistry of connecting with others.
In the rhythm of my family's life, while my Dad is crafting in the shop or navigating the roads for their business, my mom is the unsung hero, orchestrating the day-to-day operations. Words can hardly capture the depth of my admiration for her, spanning countless reasons. Even now, as I navigate the world of design, I find a constant muse in my Mom. She has an unparalleled knack for walking into a room and effortlessly fixing a twisted curtain, plumping a flattened pillow, or delicately adjusting something 'just so.' Her incredible eye for enhancing both the aesthetics and functionality of a space is a true testament to her talent. In her subtle touches, I find not only a source of inspiration but a reminder that the smallest details can make the biggest impact.
My passion for design has roots in my childhood, where my room was in a perpetual state of transformation. I had a penchant for rearranging furniture, experimenting with paint, and an undeniable obsession with collecting 'got milk' ads from the latest teen magazines – my own form of DIY wallpaper.
In school, art was my sanctuary, and the art room felt like a second home. After high school, I ventured to South Jersey, where I embarked on a journey at Rowan University, earning a Bachelors Degree in Art & Education. For 14 years, I channeled my love for the arts into teaching in the public school system, all while quietly nurturing a growing passion for interior design.
This unique blend of education and design became the foundation for my business. Every twist and turn in my journey, from the art room to the classroom and beyond, has contributed to the tapestry of my design philosophy. It's a journey that continues to inspire my work every day.
I am blessed to have married the love of my life, Cubby, who's been my unwavering support through all the twists and turns of my career growth. Whenever I excitedly proclaim, 'I have an idea,' he doesn't run too far, even though he knows it will likely be followed by a request for help—whether it's moving, building, painting, or anything in between. Yet, without fail, he's always there, making us the perfect team. I'm endlessly grateful for his constant support.
In addition to our dynamic partnership, we're a family of four, with two beautiful children, Sienna and Benjamin. Being their mom is the most rewarding role in the world. Together, we navigate this beautiful journey of life, love, and design, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
In 2019, Lakeside Drive Design Co. was born out of my deep passion for interior design and the profound joy it brings to others. I believe in the transformative power of design—how it shapes our behaviors and emotions. My mission is to go beyond creating functional spaces; I aim to craft environments that are not just beautiful and comfortable but also inspiring.
I'm dedicated to delivering an experience that adds a touch of happiness to your life and contributes to a better living and working environment for all. Whether you're dreaming of a cozy home, a vibrant retail space, or an inviting hospitality setting, I would be thrilled to connect with you and play a part in making your space uniquely yours.
